Meet DPF Sea…
of children’s picture books, such as Richard Scarry’s “Busy Town,” Stan & Jan Berenstain’s “Berenstain Bears,” Tomei Depaola’s “Mother Goose Favorites,” and of course Dr. Seuss’s “The Cat in the Hat.”
As a youth in the 80’s, there was no internet, however, there was Saturday morning cartoons ( Warner Brothers, Disney, Hannah Barbara, etc) all of which had a huge influence on DPF Sea. When he was about 11 years old he took his first Animation class at Walt Disney Studios, Orlando, Florida. During this time, he learned the process of 2D animation from the animators at Disney, who were, at that exact time, working on a short film with Roger Rabbit, set to be released along with “The Rescuers Down Under” feature film. This had become a major grounding point in DPF Sea’s life.
Several years later, at the age of 16, DPF Sea won the Governor’s Multi-Media Art Award. After completing high school he spent a year at the local university before narrowing his career focus on Computer Animation. A few months later, he was accepted into the International Fine Arts College in Miami, Florida, where he continued his education in becoming a 3D Modeler.
After taking a long break after college and raising a family of his own, DPF Sea had found his true calling in writing and illustrating children’s books enriched with a focus on core values & virtues of the human spirit!
From an early age, DPF Sea, has always gravitated to the Creative Arts. In particular “children’s books,” “drawing” and “storytelling.”
Growing up in Ohio, with a large creative family, some of his fondest memories were creating art with his Mom, Dad, grandparents, brothers & sisters. Art and music were highly encouraged in his family. The art of “Creating” became the cornerstone of which he began building his passion. Days were filled with art activities like: sculpting (using freshly dug clay from the hillsides), papier mâché, painting, sketching, drawing, sewing, woodwork… you name it, it was probably done!
Inside his childhood home, there were books everywhere. His parents had an entire wall of their bedroom filed with novels and in the kids room growing up, was a special closet filled with all kinds
The DPF Sea mission:
“To Unveil and Ignite… that beautiful Spirit of Light…that flows throughout the darkness of night! One word… One color… One book… at a time!”
